It’s hard to believe it’s been over a year now since this dream project was released! Since then, I’ve gotten some great questions, so I thought it’d be fun to round them up and do a Q&A. Here we go!
Q1. With 15 seasons, how come there aren’t more cards?
If it were up to me, we’d have a deck the size of the Men of Letters library! But this one was created as a 40-card set, so I chose the characters and themes that felt the strongest for readings. It was tough narrowing it down, but I hope these cards bring the same mix of heart, grit, and guidance that made us all fall in love with Supernatural. 🖤
Q2. Why didn’t you include sample spreads?
Since the guidebook had to stay short, spreads didn’t make it in. But honestly, that’s one of the best things about oracle decks. You get to decide how to use them. One card, three cards, ten cards—it’s your call! The magic is in trusting your gut. I do, however, plan to make another post at some point about how I personally read them, in case you’d like a starting point. 😊
Q3. How big of a Supernatural fan are you?
I’ve been in the Impala since day one! I’ve watched all 15 seasons through multiple times (the pilot alone more than 30), and I even recruited my younger brother along the way because this show is too good not to share. Way before this project was even an idea, I told my editor, if anything Supernatural ever shows up, call me. Getting to make this deck feels like my own little piece of the Winchester legacy.
Q4. How long have you been reading oracle/tarot?
Over a decade now! I use both, but I personally gravitate toward oracle decks. Tarot is wonderful, but the meanings are more structured, while oracle decks have this incredible variety. Each one feels like its own story. I do daily pulls for myself from one of my 11 decks, and I love seeing how they shift and build on each other. I always tell people: everyone should have at least one oracle deck. It’s such a beautiful way to connect with your intuition.
Q5. What’s your favorite card from the deck?
Oof, tough question! I poured so much into each one, but I’d say it’s a tie between Rowena’s and Sam’s. With Rowena’s, I loved the final line so much I wrote it on a sticky note for myself: “With poise, a sense of humor, and bright red lipstick, anything is possible.” I know…it’s a little silly to put my own words on a sticky note, but I like to think of it as exactly the kind of pep talk she’d give. And Sam’s because it’s my way of wrapping the reader up in a big comforting hug—a reminder that you matter. And yes, I’m still proud of sneaking “spectaculacular” into print. 😜
Q6. Team Sam or Team Dean?
Q7. Did you draw the illustrations?
Nope! I can barely manage a stick figure. The artwork is by Jan Meininghaus, and I couldn’t be happier with what he created. The style is so unique, and I think it fits the show perfectly.
Q8. What was the coolest part about creating this deck?
Getting to rewatch episodes and calling it “work.” 😉
Q9. What do you want people who buy the deck to know?
First: THANK YOU. Every person who’s bought the deck, left a positive review, or shared how much a message resonated—it’s meant the world to me. I created this with so much love for my fellow SPN family, and every card was intentionally crafted with warmth, guidance, and care. My hope is that these messages meet you where you are, even in small ways, and help light the path forward. Thank you for trusting me with this piece of Supernatural’s legacy, and for letting me share it with you.
